About The Role

The Senior Business Support Officer will be responsible for leading, managing and supporting the business process of an individual’s journey into Adult Social Care within the Wellingborough and East Northants Locality Adult Social Care Teams.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver and support high quality standards in relation to the business cycle, information systems, data recording and health and safety within the team service areas.
  • Provide complete, proactive administrative support to the work and financial systems.
  • Arrange, support and minute various meetings as required.
  • Organise and assist in the development and maintenance of business processes to support operational staff and efficient service delivery.
  • Raise awareness and knowledge for Business Support Staff, contributing to the quality of service delivery, and maintain office equipment, information technology, and office systems to ensure effective services.
  • Oversee ongoing line management of Business Support Officers, including supervision, workload monitoring and sickness management.
  • Participate in recruitment of new team members and induction of Business Support staff, facilitating their integration into the workplace.
  • Ensure record and data management systems are maintained to high standard to enable staff to carry out duties effectively and ensure supported individuals experience high quality service.
  • Support the implementation and use of Information Technology to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the team.
  • Provide an efficient response to requests to undertake the Protection of Property process for our supported individuals where required in line with statutory requirements.
  • Carry out any other duties which fall within the broad spirit, scope and purpose of this job description and are commensurate with the grade of the post.
  • Participate in the full induction and training support for new staff.

About You

  • You will be educated to GCSE level, or equivalent, particularly including English and Maths.
  • Have excellent IT skills and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Have a good understanding of office environments, record maintenance and management, and the ability to devise and improve team processes.
  • Demonstrate effective supervisory skills.
  • Demonstrate excellent organisational ability, including the application of information technology, and good written and verbal skills including telephone communication.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail with the ability to produce well‑presented documents.
  • Plan and allocate work effectively and efficiently, meet deadlines and work in an organised manner.
  • Ability to travel and attend alternate workplaces to support supervised Business Support Officers; business mileage will be paid.
  • Multitask within a team and on own initiative.
  • The ideal candidate will have a creative approach to maximise use of communication tools, optimise the impact of information sharing across teams, support agile working styles, and work with leadership to deliver business as usual.
