About the Role

Deliver high‑quality, efficient, and responsive administrative and technical support to the Building Control team, ensuring the needs of internal and external customers are met.

Support the Council’s statutory duties under the Building Regulations 2010, Building Act 1984 and associated legislation, contributing to a professional, customer‑focused Local Authority Building Control (LABC) service that seeks to grow market share and maximise income.

What will you be doing?

  • Provide accurate and timely technical and administrative support, including data processing, application validation, certificate preparation and customer liaison.
  • Coordinate incoming queries, notifications and fee quotation requests in line with service targets.
  • Contribute to service improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and productivity and undertake special projects and research as required.

About You

  • Experienced in a construction‑related administrative role, or equivalent demonstrable knowledge.
  • Experience working in a busy office environment acting as the first point of contact.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong IT skills, including proficiency in MS Office, MS Teams and Microsoft 365.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and construction‑related documentation.
  • High attention to detail with an analytical and methodical approach.
  • Willingness and ability to travel across the county, including at short notice.
