About The Role

This is an exciting job opportunity to work within the Accommodation Service, providing support and assistance to single people accommodated in the Council’s established Transitions Project ensuring that the project is managed robustly, complies with health and safety requirements and opportunities for income collection are maximised.

This is an exciting job opportunity to work within the Accommodation Service, providing support and assistance to single people accommodated in the Council’s established Transitions Project ensuring that the project is managed robustly, complies with health and safety requirements and opportunities for income collection are maximised.

Engage, build trust and motivate residents and work in partnership with a range of statutory and voluntary sector partners to maximise opportunities for early intervention and homeless prevention, delivering a holistic, multi-disciplinary package of specialist housing and tenancy support.

Ensure that residents are supported to sustain their accommodation, preventing repeat homelessness and rough sleeping, and have the skills and ability to move on to alternative settled accommodation in accordance with service timescales.

Please note this post is fixed term for one year with the possibility of the post becoming permanent beyond the initial fixed term contract.

What will you be doing?

Working closely with the Housing Options Team and partner agencies, you will deliver a person centred,

You will be providing tailored advice, guidance and support to single people experiencing homelessness and living in one of the Council\’s supported accommodation projects. You will ensure that individuals are able to successfully maintain their accommodation, address barriers preventing access to future housing and ultimately your intervention will help to avoid repeat homelessness, supporting residents to live healthier, more active, independent and fulfilled lives.

About You

You will have experience of working in a support role, including assessment, support planning and advocacy and an ability to work with vulnerable people.

Working effectively as part of a team and with the ability to develop good working relationships with colleagues and service users, you will be able to work well under your own initiative and prioritise your workload.

To succeed in the role, you must be focussed on achieving positive outcomes, have excellent communication skills and demonstrate effective problem-solving skills in supporting people.
