Are you passionate about sport, fitness, and creating a welcoming environment where everyone feels included and supported? We’re looking for a proactive, motivated, and enthusiastic Sports Assistant to join our team at Lodge Park Sports Centre and play a key role in bringing our vibrant leisure community to life.
This is a hands-on, varied role where you’ll be involved in all aspects of running a busy and dynamic leisure facility. You’ll also have the opportunity to get involved in events, activities, and programmes that make a real difference to the health and wellbeing of our community. No two days are the same in this role. One moment, you could be helping a customer start their fitness journey, and the next carrying out cleaning duties, supporting an event, or completing essential safety checks to keep the facility running safely and efficiently. You’ll be at the heart of everything we do—helping to create a safe, inclusive, clean, and enjoyable environment where people of all ages and abilities can thrive.
What will you be doing?
- Provide outstanding customer service, creating a friendly and welcoming atmosphere

- Help maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and equipment care
- Play an active role in setting up and supporting events and activities
- Monitor the wellbeing of customers and respond to incidents, including administering first aid when required
- Work at weekends, evenings and early mornings; therefore dedication and reliability are vital skills needed for the role
About You
- Friendly, approachable, and committed to delivering excellent customer care
- Energetic, flexible, and ready to take on a variety of tasks in a busy environment
- A strong communicator who enjoys working with people from all backgrounds
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Passionate about sport, health, and community wellbeing
- Highly attentive to detail, with a strong commitment to maintaining high cleaning standards and ensuring all areas of the facility are consistently safe, clean, and well-presented
