About The Role
North Norfolk is a stunning rural district, renowned for its beautiful coastline, expansive landscapes and vibrant communities, all within easy reach of Norwich. While it is a wonderful place to live, many residents face significant challenges in accessing and sustaining affordable housing within a highly competitive housing market. Secure, affordable and stable housing is fundamental to health, wellbeing and quality of life, and helping people achieve this can have a genuinely life‑changing impact.
As our Housing Pathways Team Leader, you will lead the operational delivery of key housing services, ensuring the Council meets its statutory homelessness responsibilities whilst delivering high‑quality, customer‑focused services.
You will manage the Housing Pathways Team, overseeing homelessness accommodation pathways, temporary accommodation services and housing register functions. A key aspect of the role is managing the Council's temporary accommodation portfolio, ensuring accommodation is safe, suitable, compliant and provides the best possible outcomes for residents.
Working closely with landlords, housing providers, support agencies and internal teams, you will develop and strengthen accommodation pathways that help people secure and sustain settled housing. You will also drive service performance, continuous improvement and effective use of resources, ensuring residents receive an excellent service during some of the most challenging periods of their lives.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead a service that has a direct and lasting impact on residents, communities and the future delivery of housing services across North Norfolk.
About You
We are looking for an experienced and motivated housing professional with a passion for delivering excellent services and improving outcomes for people facing housing difficulties.
You will have experience of managing teams within a housing, homelessness or related service and a strong understanding of the legislation, policies and practices that underpin homelessness prevention and accommodation services.
You will be an effective leader, capable of motivating and developing staff, driving performance and fostering a positive and collaborative team culture. You will also be confident in building strong relationships with landlords, housing providers, partner organisations and other stakeholders to increase accommodation options and deliver innovative housing solutions.
Most importantly, you will be passionate about making a difference. You will combine strategic thinking with a practical, customer‑focused approach, ensuring services are delivered effectively, compliantly and with compassion.
You will bring:
- Experience of leading and managing housing or homelessness services.
- Strong knowledge of homelessness legislation and statutory duties.
- Experience of managing performance, budgets and service improvement.
- Excellent partnership‑working and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to make sound decisions in a demanding and changing environment.
- Strong communication, organisational and leadership skills.
- A commitment to delivering high‑quality services and positive outcomes for residents.
