Full-Time | Earn While You Learn | No Experience Required
Do you have a passion for cars and want a career that's more than just working in a garage?
The RAC is looking for motivated individuals to join its Service, Maintenance & Repair (SMR) Apprenticeship Programme, giving you the opportunity to train as a Mobile Vehicle Technician while earning a salary and gaining nationally recognised qualifications.
Unlike a traditional garage role, you'll be training to become a mobile mechanic, carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs at customers' homes, workplaces and other convenient locations.
From day one you'll be supported by experienced RAC technicians, receive industry-leading training and develop the skills needed to become a qualified Mobile Vehicle Technician.
What you'll do
- Complete a paid, full-time apprenticeship with the RAC.
- Learn to service, maintain and repair a wide range of vehicles.
- Train alongside experienced RAC Mobile Technicians.
- Attend your apprenticeship training with North London Garages GTA (NLGGTA).
- Develop your technical, diagnostic and customer service skills.
- Work towards nationally recognised Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications.
- Working Pattern
As an RAC SMR Apprentice, you'll work
- Monday to Friday.
- 6–10 hour shifts scheduled between 8:00am and 8:00pm.
- Every other Saturday as part of your working pattern.
This role offers variety every day, as you'll travel to different customer locations rather than working from a single workshop.
What we're looking for
We're looking for enthusiastic people who
- Have a genuine interest in cars and vehicle maintenance.
- Enjoy practical, hands-on work.
- Are reliable, motivated and eager to learn.
- Have excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Want to build a long-term career with one of the UK's most recognised automotive organisations.
No previous mechanical experience is required – we'll provide all the training and support you need to succeed.
- What you'll receive
- A paid apprenticeship from day one.
- Full support from experienced RAC mentors.
- High-quality training through NLGGTA.
- Nationally recognised Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications.
- Ongoing career development opportunities.
- The opportunity to become a qualified RAC Mobile Vehicle Technician upon successful completion of the apprenticeship.
If you're ready to turn your passion for cars into an exciting career with one of the UK's leading automotive organisations, we'd love to hear from you
