Overview

The Vacancy Waste Services are looking for a motivated individual to work as part of our waste services team to contribute to making North Lincolnshire the best place to live, work, visit and invest.

Responsibilities

  • Open, operate and close household recycling centres across 8 sites.
  • Help the public correctly deposit their waste and recycling, ensure the safety of everyone using the site, complete accurate records and ensure that operation of the site complies with its environmental permit.
  • This vacancy is for an operative to work largely based at Winterton HRC; however, you may be required to work for any one of the networks of household recycling centres across North Lincolnshire.
  • Working pattern: Friday to Tuesday (including weekends) 10am–6pm from 1 March to 31 October, and 10am–4pm from 1 November to 28/29 February.
  • As a valued employee you will be entitled to 24 days of paid holiday plus Bank Holidays each year. We offer the opportunity to join a pension scheme based on career average pay with immediate life cover.
  • We hold a silver Investors in People award and will ensure your training needs are delivered to a high standard.
  • As an ambassador for the council delivering front line services, you must have good customer care skills, be literate and numerate, and be able to complete electronic and paper records.

Requirements

  • As you are applying for a customer facing role, you must have the ability to converse easily with customers and provide advice/guidance in accurate spoken English.
  • English language fluency may be required under the Immigration Act 2016.
