Responsibilities

Two personal care assistants are required to support a young female client in a 2:1 capacity. Responsibilities include assisting with accessing the community, some personal care and PEG feeding. The client has epilepsy, severe asthma and Level 3 autism. She is non-verbal but can communicate using an aid book. She uses a wheelchair in the community for health and safety. The role involves being safety‑oriented, patient, energetic, bubbly and engaging. The candidate may be required to assist with activities such as going to the park, outdoor play, playing with bubbles, listening to music, singing and watching cars. The client can hurt herself when overwhelmed, so it is important to be mindful of overstimulation, which can trigger seizures. The family also has two dogs.
