Overview
An opportunity has arisen for a Finance and Administration Officer to join the Financial Assurance & Debt Management Team on a fixed term contract (possible secondment opportunity).
The Finance & Admin Officer works with care providers, care professionals and customers (in person or indirectly) to ensure the council meets its statutory and contractual duties for payments and income collections relating to its care and support services.
Responsibilities
- Providing specialist operational and financial administrative support
- Technical knowledge of adult social care finance processes
- Using the central finance system to raise orders and invoices, look up income collection and debt
- Keeping case management systems up to date
- Supporting customers with more specialist tasks such as financial assessments, collecting and returning documentation and basic direct payment audits
- Telephone cover for Customer Financial Services
- Dealing with routine and sensitive financial issues for customers through good negotiation and mediation skills
- Negotiating and implementing payment plans to recover debt
- Maintaining records of customer contact
- Ensuring that suspected adult protection safeguarding issues are escalated through appropriate channels
