We are currently seeking a reliable bus escort to work in Scunthorpe and the surrounding areas to escort pupils with special needs to schools and colleges. The hours of work will be split shifts to accommodate transport from home to school in the morning and then from school to home in the afternoon. This will be during school term time only.

Candidates will be expected to demonstrate an understanding of the pupil’s/student’s needs and abilities. They will also be expected to communicate with empathy. Experience of care work is desirable as children/students may need support during transport.

The successful candidate will be expected to work flexible hours to accommodate the needs of the service and working flexible duties by escorting pupils/students in minibuses and taxis. The hours may vary due to the different routes, the numbers of passengers on the bus and traffic conditions.

The successful candidate will undertake necessary training required for the post. Working as a team is expected in this role.
