Overview

A vacancy has arisen within the Operational Support Team of the Older People and Physical Disability Social Work Team. The role supports the smooth running of Adult Social Care teams and provides administration support to social workers, case workers and other social care staff. The post holder will learn and experience working in a front‑line social work team and may also support the front‑door social work team and/or the Mental Health and Learning Disability Team as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Full range of clerical duties including word processing, spreadsheets, database maintenance, reception, telephone switchboard duties, minute taking and other duties relevant to the service area.
  • Finance‑related tasks as required.
  • Assist with supporting social workers and case workers.
  • Provide front‑door support to social work and related teams when necessary.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Good communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work as part of a team.
  • Interest in social work is advantageous; prior knowledge is not required.
  • Evidence of right to work in the UK; the council does not sponsor.
