We have an exciting opportunity within our Housing Advice Team for a Housing Advice Officer to join us on a one year contract to cover a period of maternity leave. This is a key role within our Housing Advice & Homeless Prevention Service, working directly with households who are homeless or threatened with homelessness.
You will deliver professional advice, support, and case management to ensure that every customer receives timely interventions and tailored solutions that help them secure and sustain suitable accommodation. You will be responsible for assessing homelessness applications under the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017, developing Personalised Housing Plans, and working collaboratively with customers and partners to prevent or relieve homelessness wherever possible.
The role also involves partnership working with landlords, support agencies, and other services to achieve the best outcomes for our residents. North Lincolnshire Council is committed to ending homelessness through early intervention, prevention, and partnership working. To be successful in this role, you will need excellent communication and problem‑solving skills, along with a calm and empathetic approach when working with customers in challenging situations. Knowledge of housing law, homelessness legislation, and welfare benefits would be an advantage, though full training will be provided.
