A typical day in the life of a Reablement Assistant involves:
- Shifts from 7am to 1.35pm and 4pm to 10.30pm, following a set rota travelling to people’s homes to deliver care and support.
- Supporting between 5 and 7 people per shift with their routines of daily living and maximising independence.
- Providing personal care, support with mobility, medication, nutrition, therapy, community inclusion, and working with aids, adaptations, and assistive technologies.
- Completing, following, and updating support plans, case notes, audits, and risk assessments as part of daily routine.
- Using a works smartphone and laptop for day-to-day tasks, scheduling, and communication.
- Being accessible and responsive to crisis situations.
- Supporting families and individuals with accessing information and signposting to other agencies.
Entry level posts consist of reablement assistant positions, both days and nights, with day posts at 25 hours per week and night posts at 24/16 hours following a rolling rota.
