Cover Supervisor

Are you enthusiastic about education and interested in exploring a career in teaching? Sir John Nelthorpe School is seeking to appoint a committed and proactive Cover Supervisor to join our successful and supportive team from February 2026.

This is an ideal opportunity for a confident, organised individual who enjoys working with young people and is looking to gain valuable experience in a secondary school setting.

Key Responsibilities:
– Delivering pre-prepared lesson materials in the absence of teaching staff
– Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment
– Supporting pupils with their learning and encouraging high expectations
– Collaborating with teaching staff and the wider school team to ensure continuity of learning

– Is passionate about working with young people
– Has strong interpersonal and communication skills
– Can manage a classroom effectively and confidently
– Is flexible, reliable, and professional
– Is keen to develop their skills and potentially explore a route into teaching
