We’re looking for friendly, reliable and enthusiastic individuals to help make lunchtimes a great experience for our clients. If you enjoy working with food and have a passion for great customer service, this could be the perfect role for you!

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Helping prepare and serve nutritious community meals.
  • Following training to deputise for the cook to cover annual leave and absence.
  • Washing up and keeping the kitchen clean and tidy.
  • Supporting the cook with food prep and cooking.
  • Following hygiene and safety procedures.
  • Completing kitchen paperwork (e.g. cleaning schedules, temperature logs).
  • Displaying a caring attitude and team spirit.
  • Good communication skills – especially with children.
  • Basic literacy and numeracy.
  • Awareness of food hygiene, allergens, and safeguarding.
  • Willingness to complete training (e.g. Manual Handling, Food Hygiene).

Requirements:

  • Candidates must be able to evidence their right to work in the UK.
  • The council does not hold a sponsor licence to sponsor people to work in the UK.
