We are seeking a talented and experienced Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one support to pupils with Special Educational Needs.

About the role:

  • Responsibilities: Providing specific support for individual pupils with Special Educational Needs.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Minimum Grade C in GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent).
  • Experience: Proven experience in nurture and behaviour management in a primary school setting.
  • Skills: Excellent communication skills, ability to engage and motivate children, and a commitment to being an integral part of our school community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specific support for individual pupils with Special Educational Needs, working alongside the class teacher to deliver programmes of learning.
  • Apply knowledge of various intervention programmes, including phonics.
  • Foster a positive learning environment that boosts achievement, independence and self-esteem.

  • Has strong subject knowledge in English and Maths.
  • Can support high-quality learning experiences for all pupils including those with special educational needs.
  • Understands safeguarding practices.
  • Is calm, patient, and sees the potential in all pupils.
  • Can work independently and collaboratively with other staff members.
  • Can engage children in play and structured activities during playtimes and lunchtimes.
  • Brings a fun personality and good sense of humour.
