Overview
North Lanarkshire Council is leading a regeneration programme for its town centres and surrounding areas as part of its plans for inclusive economic growth. Working with a variety of partners, the Enterprise and Communities service has a key role in guiding this regeneration towards sustainable development. Responsibilities
- Design, specification, estimating and preparation of contract documents for civil engineering projects.
- Contract administration, payments and contract management on civil engineering projects.
- Procurement and contract management as part of a technician civil engineering role.
- Work within a multi-disciplinary environment and collaborate with partner organisations and the construction sector.
Qualifications
- SVQ4, HND, degree level or equivalent in Civil Engineering.
- Eligible for Graduate or Technician membership of the Institution of Civil Engineers (M.I.C.E.).
- Significant experience within the design and construction industry.
- Experience of computerised design and billing systems.
- Preferably knowledge of public sector procurement and current industry standard forms of construction contract conditions.
- Full driving licence.
Location and Working Pattern
Municipal Buildings, Windmillhill Street, Motherwell ML1 1AB
35 Hours per week. Monday - Thursday 8:45am - 16:45pm (55‑minute lunch break). Friday 8:45am - 16:15pm (50‑minute lunch break).
