North Lanarkshire Council Sport Venues

Based within our venues throughout North Lanarkshire, you will work within our Sports Development Kickstart Project, delivering football sessions at various leisure centres. The Kickstart programme is designed to offer mental health, addiction, and recovery service users aged 18+ the opportunity to attend weekly football sessions at North Lanarkshire Council venues. The project’s objectives are to improve the health and wellbeing of participants while encouraging positive attitudes towards physical activity and the community.

You must possess a relevant sports qualification. As part of a strong, established team of coaches, you will be responsible for planning, organising and delivering an appropriate range of sports activities. You will be a dynamic and experienced sports coach who will inspire young people to achieve their full potential and to deliver high‑quality sessions.

You will require to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member through Disclosure Scotland and obtain a satisfactory membership check prior to commencing in this role.

These posts are funded for a period up to 31 March 2026.

Responsibilities

You will plan, organise and deliver a range of sports activities as part of the Kickstart project. You will work within a team of coaches to provide engaging sessions that support participant health, wellbeing and positive attitudes towards physical activity and the community.

Requirements

Relevant sports qualification. PVG scheme membership and satisfactory disclosure check prior to start date.

Work Pattern

Monday – 2pm to 4pm, Thursday – 2pm to 4pm, and Friday – 4pm to 6pm.
