The Intensive Services Team of Community Alternatives and Families First are progressing an ambitious programme of change to strengthen our support to children and young people in line with The Promise (The Independent Care Review). Key to these improvements will be the provision of intensive support for care experienced young people and increasing support to children and young people to help them remain at home.

We currently have exciting opportunities for Social Workers in our teams at Community Alternatives and Families First, Coatbridge. We are looking for someone who has a sound value base, can demonstrate a commitment to providing safe, effective and person-centred support, and is passionate about achieving positive outcomes for North Lanarkshire’s most vulnerable young people.

To apply you must hold a CQSW/DipSW, BA (Hons) in Social Work or equivalent. We are looking for people who possess excellent communication and writing skills, have a sound value base and can demonstrate they have the skills and abilities to gain trust and confidence to ensure we deliver the best possible outcomes.

You will be registered or eligible for registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) and you will require to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member prior to commencing in this role.

In return, we can offer you a positive professional working experience with a commitment to continuous professional development including access to senior practitioner status and training and support to help you transition into your new role with us.

As a member of the Intensive Services team, you would participate in a rota that is devised to manage the service across 7 days a week including evenings and weekends to ensure the right support is available to children, young people and their families when they need it.

Work pattern:

  • 2 Posts - 37 hours per week
  • 1 Post - 18.5 hours per week
