North Lanarkshire Council is committed to promoting the welfare of adults and children. Your role as a Social Work Assistant based in Coatbridge Community Care Team is critical. You will be required to provide a professional service across the local authority, working within Government Legislation, National, and Council policies.

You will participate in delivering individual and groupwork programmes, and prepare reports and assessments appropriate to the grade of the post.

Your role includes offering advice, support, and assistance to individuals and families, as well as partner agencies including police, health, and housing colleagues. You will also be involved in some individual and groupwork programmes and assist in preparing written reports and assessments.

Qualifications required include education to higher grade level or SVQ level 2 or equivalent, with extended experience in a Social Work/Social Care setting. An HNC/SVQ Level 3 in care or equivalent is desirable.

You will need to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member before starting in this role.

Work pattern:

35 hours per week – Monday to Thursday, 08:45 to 16:45; Friday, 08:45 to 16:15.
