North Lanarkshire Council is recruiting for an internal position within Housing Operations, based with the Wishaw/Shotts Locality. The role involves assisting the Housing Co-ordinator and Senior Retirement Housing Officer to manage retirement housing complexes, develop services for residents, and work with the wider community to support safe, well-maintained tenancies and an enhanced housing management and property maintenance service.
A key priority is the safety and wellbeing of residents, with a focus on delivering services that support tenancies and the upkeep of the surrounding environment.
Responsibilities- Assist the Housing Co-ordinator and Senior Retirement Housing Officer to manage retirement housing complexes and partner to develop services for residents.
- Promote safety, wellbeing, and an enhanced housing management and property maintenance service within the older persons housing complex and its surroundings.
- Assist with and promote the use of communal and recreational facilities to residents and the wider community; organize social events and encourage participation where possible.
- Liaise and communicate with other agencies and services to support residents and service delivery.
- S/NVQ level 2 joint Chartered Institute of Housing Award / Principles of Care Unit or equivalent housing qualification.
- Extended experience of working with the public or customers, preferably in housing services.
- Experience liaising with other agencies and services.
- Ability to understand issues faced by older people in the community; approachable and proactive approach to work.
- Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme membership required prior to commencing in the role.
17.5 hours per week — Thursday, Friday and alternate Wednesdays.
