An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Business Gateway Lanarkshire Team. Reporting directly to the Enterprise Development Manager (Business Gateway), the Senior Business Adviser role will have responsibility for delivering Business Gateway services throughout the Lanarkshire area and on behalf of North and South Lanarkshire Council.

The Senior Business Adviser will be responsible for growing and servicing a portfolio of high growth start-up, existing business clients, more complex start-up and non-growth business cases, and will mentor and support Business Advisers to develop their skills and expertise. Working as part of a team, the Senior Adviser will engage with the business community, other Council services, partners, stakeholders, funders and business organisations to actively promote North and South Lanarkshire as a place to do business, invest, work, live, visit and host events.

Educated to degree or equivalent level in a relevant discipline, the candidate is required to have substantial experience of running their own business or having operated at a senior level within a business environment. With strong organisational and excellent communication skills, they should demonstrate a high personal drive and motivation to deliver a range of key activities to meet the Business Gateway Objectives.

You will be joining a dynamic and flexible team who currently operate a hybrid working model of home-working and office-based working at the Daziel Building in Motherwell.

Work pattern: 35 hours per week - Monday - Thursday: 08:45 - 16:45 (including a 55 minute unpaid break) Friday: 08:45 - 16:15 (including a 50 minute unpaid break)
