An opportunity has arisen for a Payroll & Pension Analyst within the Payroll & Pension team at the Employee Service Centre. Reporting to the Payroll & Pension Senior Analyst, you will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate salary payments.
Applicants should be educated to standard grade or equivalent and will liaise with various pension funds linked to North Lanarkshire Council and other bodies, completing pension forms and submitting members\' data in accordance with set timescales.
Key Duties include:
- Processing salary information to meet payroll deadlines, ensuring accurate and timely payments
- Attaching employees to the relevant payroll, applying legislative deductions, and processing P45 forms
- Handling faster payment requests, salary recalls, and overpayments, ensuring compliance with audit requirements
- Calculating Statutory Sick Pay and Maternity Pay according to legislation, issuing SMP1 and SSP1 forms as needed
- Calculating overpayments from gross to net pay
- Maintaining accurate records for pension schemes
- Ensuring adherence to Pension Regulations and Auto Enrolment legislation to avoid penalties
- Calculating and applying term-time adjustments
- Analyzing payroll reports to verify payment accuracy and data integrity
- Responding to inquiries from staff, employees, and external agencies such as SPFO, SPPA, Student Loan Company, and DWP
