We are delighted to be able to offer students who have completed the second year of their degree or are studying for a masters’ degree the opportunity to apply for an internship for summer 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable work experience with the council for 12-16 weeks.

What is the role?

Our internships cover a wide variety of sectors and you will be fully supported in your role to undertake work experience directly related to your degree/masters course. Internships are available in the following areas:

  • Occupational Health
  • Social Work

What do I need?

You must have completed your second year of study for a relevant degree or be studying for a relevant masters’ degree. No formal work experience is required but relatable work experience is desirable. With strong research and analytical abilities, you should be able to use initiative and work under supervision as part of a team, able to prioritise and organise tasks and maintain a high degree of confidentiality especially when dealing with sensitive information.
