In this role you will assist with developing and delivering the Council's Local Transport Strategy and Active Travel Strategy, work closely with key project partners, and develop substantial capital programmes of work in line with The Plan for North Lanarkshire.
You will also assist in the preparation and submission of funding applications to external agencies and partners, including SPT, Walk, Wheel, Cycle Trust and Transport Scotland, and support the Council in minimising the impact of development on the network.
With an HNC or equivalent level qualification in a relevant discipline, you will have significant knowledge and experience in Transportation Planning, particularly in collaborative partnership working with agencies such as Glasgow City Region, SPT, and Walk, Wheel, Cycle Trust.
You will be business and customer focused with a demonstrable record of identifying opportunities, achieving outcomes, managing change, and exercising strong leadership skills. Self‑motivation, flexibility, and the ability to manage multiple changing demands are essential. Strong organisational and IT skills, including Microsoft Office, are required, along with clear written and verbal communication and the ability to analyse and present information.
Work pattern
35 hours per week – Monday to Thursday: 08:45 to 16:45 (55 minute unpaid break). Friday: 08:45 to 16:15 (50 minute unpaid break).
