Overview: Trainee Technical Analyst – NLC2: £25,698 - £25,971 per year. North Lanarkshire Council, one of Scotland's largest local authorities, seeks an undergraduate placement candidate to support the Technology Development team within Finance and Technology. The role provides formal and on‑the‑job training, and will enable the successful candidate to develop and support new technology applications and business solutions as part of the council’s DigitalNL and SmartNL programmes.
Responsibilities: As part of the one‑year placement, you will assist with the development of technology applications, support business solutions, and gain hands‑on experience working with the council’s digital initiatives. You will also receive training to acquire the skills and qualifications required to drive the council’s ambition forward.
Qualifications:
- Currently studying a degree in Software Engineering or an equivalent discipline that includes a one‑year work placement.
- Demonstrated interest and aptitude for technology development.
- Dynamic, confident and highly motivated to learn and develop professional skills.
Working Pattern: Monday – Thursday: 08:45 am – 16:45 pm; Friday: 08:45 am – 16:15 pm. The role operates on a hybrid model of home‑based and office‑based work within the Civic Square in Motherwell. This position is temporary until 1 September 2027.
