We are looking for a Records Assistant to join the NLC Records, Archives and Local Studies Team at North Lanarkshire Heritage Centre, Motherwell. Reporting to the Records Officer, you will be responsible for the provision of services relating to the records management function within NLC, including on-site visits to offices, working in a records store and listing/cataloguing duties.

You should be able to communicate effectively and have good information retrieval skills. You should be self-motivated, be able to prioritise workloads effectively and have excellent ICT and customer care skills. Records management experience or qualifications are desirable. Lifting and carrying as well as using moving stairs within records stores are core duties so the successful applicant should have prior awareness of workplace health and safety. You should be able to travel to venues within North Lanarkshire according to service requirements.

You will require to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member through Disclosure Scotland and obtain a satisfactory membership check prior to commencing in this role.

Work pattern - Monday to Friday 9.00am to 4.30pm (30 minute break).
