We are looking to grow our Invest NL team and have opportunities for a Senior Planning Officer, Planning Officer, Environmental Health Officer and two Senior Building Standards Surveyors.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing bespoke advice to potential developers to help co-ordinate and accelerate the statutory consent process to facilitate increased investment and deliver positive outcomes.
- Assisting in the delivery of an effective service for major development applications including council investment projects and programmes in close collaboration with other council services and external agencies.
- Contributing to the review of and further development of the end-to-end process for statutory consents to improve the efficiency of the statutory consent process in North Lanarkshire.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Planning Officer: Degree or Diploma (recognised by RTPI) in Town Planning or related subject. Membership of Royal Town Planning Institute. Extended post qualification planning experience. Awareness or familiarity with current and upcoming development pressures such as data centres is desirable. Collaborative partnership experience is desirable.
- Senior Planning Officer: Degree or Diploma (recognised by RTPI) in Town Planning or related subject. Membership of Royal Town Planning Institute. Considerable post qualification planning experience. Supervisory experience is desirable. Awareness or familiarity with current and upcoming development pressures such as data centres is desirable. Collaborative partnership experience is desirable.
For both roles you'll need to be business and customer-focused, with an ability to problem solve and achieve good outcomes. You should have a sound understanding of relevant legislation, policy and good practice in your field with excellent organisational and IT skills and good written and verbal communication skills.
