Position Overview: Learning Assistant (Universal) at New Stevenston Primary School, North Lanarkshire Council. Supports children with additional support needs in a primary classroom setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist children with personal hygiene and maintain hygiene stock supplies.
- Facilitate daily reception, departure, and escort duties.
- Support classroom tasks, including preparing work, setting up teaching aids, and recording programmes.
- Provide additional support to children with further education needs.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Recent experience working with children, voluntary or in a school environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal relationship skills.
- Willingness to undertake required NHS or Education training.
- Experience with children/young people who have additional needs (desirable).
- Must become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member before commencing.
Work Pattern & Salary:
- Monday – Friday, 5 hours per day between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm.
- Salary: NLC 4 – £26,991 to £28,283 (pro rata).
