New Stevenston Primary School, North Lanarkshire Council, is offering an opportunity to assist children with additional support needs as a Learning Assistant (Universal).
Responsibilities
- Support children in the school environment.
- Provide care for children, assist with personal hygiene requirements, and maintain stocks of hygiene sundries where necessary.
- Handle daily reception and departure of children, including messenger or escort duties.
- Assist with classroom-related duties such as preparation of classwork and materials, setting up and operating teaching aids, recording programmes, and reprographic work.
Qualifications and Experience
- Recent experience working with children in a voluntary capacity or within a school setting is essential.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to undertake specific NHS or Education training as required.
- Experience working with children/young people who have additional needs is desirable.
Requirements
- Prior to commencing in this role, you are required to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member.
