New Stevenston Primary School, North Lanarkshire Council, is offering an opportunity to assist children with additional support needs as a Learning Assistant (Universal).

Responsibilities

  • Support children in the school environment.
  • Provide care for children, assist with personal hygiene requirements, and maintain stocks of hygiene sundries where necessary.
  • Handle daily reception and departure of children, including messenger or escort duties.
  • Assist with classroom-related duties such as preparation of classwork and materials, setting up and operating teaching aids, recording programmes, and reprographic work.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Recent experience working with children in a voluntary capacity or within a school setting is essential.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to undertake specific NHS or Education training as required.
  • Experience working with children/young people who have additional needs is desirable.

Requirements

  • Prior to commencing in this role, you are required to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member.

Work Pattern

  • Monday – Friday: 8:45 am – 2:45 pm
