North Lanarkshire Council is investing in gigabit‑capable fibre connectivity across its housing stock through the Social Housing Broadband programme. This infrastructure provides the foundation for new forms of digitally enabled housing services that could support improved asset management, enhanced safety monitoring and more proactive support for our tenants.

The new Housing Operations Manager post will ensure best value and compliance with current legislation, lead on categorising and analysing data, performance management, and ensure compliance with our project management principles. The role will provide effective support to NLC tenants and those in temporary accommodation by developing community engagement.

You will be responsible for the implementation and performance of data management, ensuring compliance with our Project Management principles and preparation of reports for the appropriate Board. A key role will be to develop services, ensure collaborative working and performance monitoring to respond to the needs of local communities, reflect the growing demand for digital services, and ensure key objectives and targets are achieved.

You should have substantial experience in housing management and service development, preferably gained in a public sector environment, with the ability to monitor and maximise performance in all housing service areas. Your experience should include managing budgets and partnership working, with a track record of delivering performance improvement and the ability to motivate and lead a multi‑disciplinary team.

Educated to Diploma/Degree/SVQ4 level (SCQF Level 8) in a housing or social services field with strong analytical skills and excellent communication skills, you should demonstrate high personal drive and motivation to deliver housing solutions to meet the council’s priority outcomes. A leadership/management qualification and experience of risk management are desirable.

It is a requirement of the post that you participate in the Out of Hours Homeless Standby Service Escalation Officer roster during evenings and weekends. Payments for periods of Standby will be made in accordance with the SJC Salaries Agreement. You must hold a current UK driving licence to apply for this role.

Monday to Thursday 8:00am/8:45 to 4:00pm/16:45 and, Friday 8:00am/8:45 to 15:45/16:15 (Unpaid lunch break 1 hour 30 minutes each day).
