These roles will sit within our multi-disciplinary design and project management team.

Our Clerk of Works play a central role in monitoring the delivery of our investment and regeneration programmes, making sure our projects are delivered to the highest standards. NLC’s housing stock is one of the council’s most valuable assets. Maintaining these homes to a high standard is essential for meeting statutory obligations and supporting the council’s priorities for safe, warm and sustainable homes.

The team is leading several large scale and innovative programmes including:

  • Planning and delivering the long term demolition of our 36 tower blocks over the next 25 years.
  • Upgrading existing retirement accommodation to the new Retirement Plus Standard with dementia friendly design.
  • Energy efficiency and renovation programmes.
  • Large scale electrical and communications upgrade projects.

As a Clerk of Works you will be on the frontline helping to deliver these programmes. You will play a key role bridging the design team and the onsite delivery team. We are looking for candidates who can bring strong technical experience from specialist backgrounds. One post will focus on demolition projects, one on electrical and communications work and one on fire safety. Applicants with experience in the inspection or delivery of these types of works, whether through active or passive fire safety systems, large scale demolition, or electrical and communications projects, will be well suited to this role.
