As a Catering Assistant, you will work efficiently to support daily food preparation, serve meals and beverages, and help maintain a clean, safe, and friendly environment. Your positive attitude and commitment to great customer service will make a real difference in our busy setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Work efficiently to support daily food preparation, serve meals and beverages, and help maintain a clean, safe, and friendly environment.

Requirements:

  • Communicates clearly and confidently
  • Has good literacy and numeracy skills
  • Understands customer needs and current food trends
  • Works well as part of a team
  • Brings experience of customer service, with some exposure to till or cash handling
  • Experience within a catering environment is desirable, and holding an Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate would be an advantage.

Working Pattern:

  • New Monkland Primary – 20 hours per week – Monday to Friday – 9:30 – 14:00 (30min unpaid break each day)
  • Chapelhall Primary – 20 hours per week – Monday to Friday – 9:30 – 14:00 (30min unpaid break each day)
  • Caldervale High – 20 hours per week – Monday to Friday – 10:00 – 14:30 (30min unpaid break each day)
  • St Margarets High – 17.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday – 10:30 – 14:00
  • Christ The King Primary – 10 hours per week – Monday to Friday – 09:15 – 11:15
  • New Monkland Primary – 5 hours per week – Monday to Friday – 08:00 – 09:00
  • All Saints – 12.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday – 11:30 – 14:00

Benefits:

  • 27 days annual leave and 6 public holidays (casual/sessional roles receive 12.1% of hourly rate for annual leave including public holidays)

Employment Requirements:

Successful candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme before starting. This will be arranged by North Lanarkshire Council.
