Role Overview

We are seeking an outgoing and approachable part-time Library Assistant to join our team. Responsibilities include delivering children’s activities such as Bookbug sessions, Chatterbooks, reader development activities, supporting public access to IT, front-line customer service, and operating library management systems.

Candidate Requirements

  • Good general education and interpersonal skills
  • Customer service experience with diverse customers
  • Good IT skills
  • Ability to lift and carry stock
  • Interest in books and reading
  • Mobility within North Lanarkshire for travel to various locations
  • Must become a PVG Scheme member through Disclosure Scotland before starting

Work Pattern and Duration

Wednesday and Friday, 7 hours per day. Temporary position until June 30, 2026.
