An opportunity is available within Muir Street Primary School, North Lanarkshire Council, to assist children who have additional support needs.
Responsibilities
- Work with children to support them in their school environment.
- Care for children, assist with personal hygiene requirements and ensure maintenance of stocks of hygiene sundries where necessary.
- Daily reception and departure of children and messenger or escort duties as part of the role.
- Involvement in classroom duties such as preparation of classwork and materials, setting up and operating teaching aids, recording programmes and reprographic work.
Qualifications and experience
- Recent experience working with children on a voluntary basis or in a school setting is essential.
- Good communication and interpersonal relationship skills are essential.
- Willingness to undertake specific NHS or Education training as required is essential.
- Experience of working with children/young people who have additional needs is desirable.

- Prior to commencing in this role, you are required to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member.
- Contract and hours
- This is a temporary position until 02/04/ (date to be confirmed).
Work Pattern
15 hours per week: Monday - Friday, 3 hours per day between 9.30am - 1.30pm.
