Overview

Hilltop Primary School – LCSC Unit, North Lanarkshire Council is seeking a Learning Assistant (Universal) to support children with additional support needs in a primary school setting.

Responsibilities

  • Assist children with personal hygiene and maintain hygiene sundries where necessary.
  • Support daily reception and departure of children and perform messenger or escort duties.
  • Prepare classwork and materials, set up and operate teaching aids, record programmes and reprographic work.

Qualifications

  • Recent experience working with children on a voluntary capacity or in a school situation essential.
  • Good communication and interpersonal relationship skills essential.
  • Willingness to undertake specific NHS or Education training as required essential.
  • Experience of working with children/young people who have additional needs desirable.
  • Prior to commencing in this role, you are required to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member.
