Based in one of our cemeteries in the North Lanarkshire area, you will be responsible to the Chargehand for the provision of an interment service and the general maintenance of the cemetery. You may be required to work in cemeteries across North Lanarkshire and must have a flexible approach to work.

You will have some experience of grave lair excavation and the various shoring methods used, general grounds maintenance tasks such as grass cutting, shrub and flower bed maintenance and be familiar with various items of grass cutting equipment. Knowledge of the legislation relating to cemeteries would be advantageous.

You will be a positive, responsible and enthusiastic individual with the ability to work as part of a team and outdoors in all weathers. You will require good numeracy and literacy skills and a good general education. It is essential that you either hold the Cemetery Operatives Training course certificate or are willing to work towards and achieve within a reasonable period of time. You will also require a Driving Licence (Categories B&E, CE). The ability to conduct yourself in a discreet and courteous manner is essential.

Work pattern: 37 hours per week - Monday to Thursday - 08:00 - 16:00; Friday - 08:00 - 15:30.
