A Supply Teacher is a Teacher who is recruited to a list of approved teachers who can be offered short-term and long-term temporary work as and when there is a school need. They may be asked to cover periods of staff sickness, maternity leave, secondment, temporary vacancies etc. Supply Teachers are valued and essential to schools to fill such gaps with minimal impact to young people’s learning. There is no obligation to accept offers of work and in some cases supply teachers are registered in more than one local authority.

North Lanarkshire Council welcome applications from full or provisional GTCS registered applicants. You will require to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member prior to commencing in this role. Any offer of appointment to this post is subject to satisfactory reference(s) and any other appropriate conditions. If appointed we will contact your referee(s) by email to complete your reference(s).

In line with Section 21(2A) of the Education (Scotland) Act 1980 the successful candidate for this post will require to have the approval of the Roman Catholic Church. For details of this process, please consult the Scottish Catholic Education Service.

Salaries will be in accordance with the Scottish Negotiating Committee for Teacher (SNCT).
