North Lanarkshire Council, as one of Scotland's largest local authorities, is leading an exciting and ambitious regeneration programme for its town centres and surrounding areas as part of its plans for inclusive economic growth. Working with a variety of partners, the Enterprise and Communities service has a key role in guiding this regeneration towards sustainable development.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Technical & Design Group to provide a quantity surveying service relating to the Council's extensive corporate portfolio of properties. You will be joining a Service which strives for excellence in service delivery and works well with both partner organisations and the general construction sector.

You will work within a multi-disciplinary environment and be responsible for cost estimating, preparation of contract documents, payments and contract administration. As Quantity Surveyor, you will be part of the Technical & Design Group and be based partly at home and from office on a hybrid working rota basis. You will be involved in all aspects of the traditional quantity surveying role, including procurement and contract management.

You will have an RICS accredited degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or construction related discipline and possess chartered membership of the RICS. You should have considerable experience within the design and construction industry, experience of computerised billing systems, and preferably have knowledge of public sector procurement and current industry standard forms of construction contract conditions. A driving licence is essential for this post.

35 hours per week - Monday - Thursday: 08:45 - 16:45 (including a 55 minute unpaid break). This includes 27 days annual leave and 6 public holidays, and a wide range of benefits available to you.
