We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable individual to join our team and help ensure our school environment remains clean, safe, and welcoming for pupils, staff, and visitors. As a Cleaner, you will play an important role in maintaining high standards of hygiene across the school. You should be able to work independently as well as part of a wider team, demonstrate strong communication skills, and bring a flexible and positive approach to your daily tasks.
Salary NLC1 £27,167 (Pro rata) (effective from 01 April 2026)
Working Pattern
- Abronhill Primary School – 10 hours per week – Monday to Friday – 15:00 – 17:00
- Cumbernauld & St Andrews Primary School – 15 hours per week – Monday to Friday – 06:00 – 09:00
- Glencryan School – 15 hours per week – Monday to Friday – 16:00 – 19:00
- Greenfaulds High School – 15 hours per week – Monday to Friday – 16:00 – 19:00
- Kilsyth Academy – 15 hours per week – Monday to Friday – 06:00 – 09:00
- St Lucy's Primary School – 15 hours per week – Monday to Friday – 06:00 – 09:00
- St Lucy's Primary School – 10 hours per week – Monday to Friday – 15:00 – 17:00
- St Marys Primary School Cumbernauld – 10 hours per week – Monday to Friday – 15:00 – 17:00
- St Maurice's High School – 15 hours per week – Monday to Friday – 16:00 – 19:00
- Woodlands Primary School – 15 hours per week – Monday to Friday – 06:00 – 09:00
Qualifications & Requirements
Previous experience in commercial cleaning and familiarity with cleaning equipment, materials, and associated Health & Safety requirements is desirable. Full training will be provided; however, an understanding of safe working practices would be advantageous. Successful candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme before starting. This will be arranged by North Lanarkshire Council.
