Social Worker 35 Hours – North Lanarkshire Council. We are one of Scotland’s largest local authorities, focused on delivering quality Social Work services that put people in our communities first. Our Social Workers have a vital role in delivering services that promote high standards, best value, social justice and meet community needs.
You will be based in the Cumbernauld Addiction Recovery Team, contributing to assessment and planning in line with National and Council policies, procedures, practice, and service standards. You will hold a CQSW/DipSW, BA (Hons) in Social Work or equivalent and be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC). Post-qualifying experience in a relevant discipline is essential.
Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to assessment and planning within the Addiction Recovery Team in Cumbernauld, ensuring alignment with national and local policies and service standards.
- Maintain professional practice standards and participate in continuing professional development where eligible, including access to senior practitioner status.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues to support service users and deliver high-quality social work services.
- Undertake duties in accordance with SSSC registration requirements and PVG Scheme membership processes prior to commencing employment.
Qualifications and Requirements
- CQSW, DipSW or BA (Honours) in Social Work or equivalent qualification.
- Registered or eligible for registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
- Post-qualifying experience in a relevant discipline is essential.
- Eligibility to become a PVG Scheme member and satisfactory Disclosure Scotland PVG check prior to commencing in this role.
