An exciting opportunity has become available for a Project Manager - Engineering within Enterprise and Communities, Housing Investment. Operating across home, site and office locations, the team plays a key role in delivering North Lanarkshire Council's ambitious Housing Strategy through the development and delivery of major housing investment, compliance and regeneration programmes.

Working with a range of partners, the Investment Team is responsible for delivering innovative engineering and construction solutions that improve building safety, sustainability, energy efficiency and the overall performance of our homes.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious and motivated individual to join our multi-disciplinary project management team and contribute to some of the Council's most challenging and rewarding projects. As Project Manager (Engineering), you will lead the delivery of a diverse portfolio of housing investment projects, managing technical, financial and programme performance from project inception through to completion.

Acting as the Council's client representative, you will manage the performance of external consultants, contractors and specialist advisors, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with agreed quality, cost and programme objectives. You will provide leadership and direction across a wide range of engineering and construction projects, including building safety improvements, building services projects, demolition works and other major investment programmes across the housing estate.

Working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners, you will coordinate design development, oversee construction delivery and ensure successful project outcomes that deliver lasting benefits for residents and communities. A key aspect of the role will be providing technical advice and professional input into proposed alterations, refurbishments and modifications to existing buildings and structures.

You will assess engineering solutions, advise on the implications of structural and building fabric interventions, and ensure that proposed modifications are delivered in accordance with relevant legislation, standards and best practice. Your expertise will help inform investment decisions and contribute to the long-term safety, compliance and performance of the Council's housing assets.

You will be responsible for managing project risks, monitoring performance, resolving technical challenges and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, standards and best practice. Our projects are delivered in accordance with the RIBA Plan of Work and North Lanarkshire Council's governance and risk management frameworks, and you will play a key role in driving projects forward and supporting the delivery of strategic housing investment priorities.

We are looking for a dynamic and confident individual with substantial experience in structural engineering and knowledge of project management. You will possess a sound understanding of structural engineering systems, construction processes, together with excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills. The ability to manage multiple projects, lead multidisciplinary teams and develop practical solutions to complex challenges will be essential.

Work pattern: 35 hours per week - Monday - Thursday: 08:45 - 16:45 (including a 55 minute unpaid break) Friday: 08:45 - 16:15 (including a 50 minute unpaid break)
