North Lanarkshire Council is seeking to recruit a Site Supervisor to oversee our Museums & Heritage site team and care for the buildings and grounds. You will be expected to be flexible in your approach to accommodate our varying work demands.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Supervising staff and volunteers
- Identifying and reporting repairs
- Ensuring health & safety across all museums
- Identifying and programming preventative work
- Supporting events and exhibitions
- Supporting the conservation of large objects
- Liaising with contractors
- Carrying out safety checks
The successful candidate must have good communication skills, be competent in a variety of Microsoft applications, and have knowledge of health and safety legislation. They must also be capable of carrying out a maintenance programme and participate in and deliver toolbox talks and safety updates to staff.
Experience of supervision and maintenance planning is an essential requirement along with knowledge of basic repairs, grounds maintenance, and painting and decorating. If successful, you will be responsible for providing a safe environment for everyone in museums and ensuring this is achieved as efficiently and economically as possible.
The work pattern for this role will be 35 hours per week following a three-week pattern including weekends and occasional evening working. The successful candidate will be required to participate in our recall to work for alarm call outs. A driving licence is essential.
You will require to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member through Disclosure Scotland and obtain a satisfactory membership check prior to commencing in this role.
