An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Support Services team, where you will play a key role in delivering a high-quality support service for our Community Operations Service. As you would expect, the post will be both challenging and varied, working in a fast-paced exciting role, managing a high performing team.

This role will primarily focus on our Land, Waste and Fleet teams. The successful applicant will be responsible for the operational management of a Support Services team, ensuring staff within your team have access to and/or receive appropriate management and direction, training, mentoring, coaching and skills development, performance review and feedback, and appropriate systems of communication and consultation.

The successful applicant will play a full and active role in the strategic development of a responsive, efficient Support service in conjunction with other Council Officers and the effective and efficient implementation of the Council’s policies and programmes. The successful candidate will be able to liaise with members of the public and other services regarding enquiries and complaints, whilst ensuring the relevant IT systems are updated within required time scales.

Excellent communication skills are essential along with excellent organisational, supervisory, and interpersonal skills together with relevant and substantial experience in an administrative/clerical team environment. Please note that an HNC or equivalent in Business Administration, IT, Management or relevant subject is required.

Work pattern: 35 hours per week - Monday - Thursday: 08:45am - 16:45pm (including a 55 minute unpaid break); Friday: 08:45am - 16:15pm (including a 50 minute unpaid break).
