We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and ambitious individual to join our team and play a key role in the delivery of an effective and efficient operational HR service to our stakeholders. Not only will you gain valuable experience in our fast paced and challenging environment, but you will also be given the opportunity to explore your innovative side, learn new skills and take part in upcoming projects.

On a daily basis, your main focus will be to assist the team with managing attendance, and you will be responsible for collating statistics, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures and supporting managers and employees where necessary. You will also provide first line professional, consistent and timely advice to our stakeholders on a range of general HR queries, such as terms and conditions of employment, policy application and procedures. You will also attend formal meetings where appropriate, including note taking at investigation meetings and will be required to produce reports, analyse information and undertake research work.

Educated to HNC level or equivalent in a business or administrative subject, you will have moderate experience of working in an HR environment and have worked with the public and all levels of management within a large complex organisation. You will have excellent organisational skills and proven experience in a complex administration function where confidentiality is essential. Along with an understanding of basic employment legislation, you will have knowledge of HR policies, procedures, systems and processes and have the ability to support our stakeholders and provide sensitive information to employees. Numerate and IT literate, you will have excellent planning and analytical skills, good attention to detail and be able to take formal notes and produce good quality correspondence.

On a personal basis, you will be team orientated, innovative and creative, able to build good working relationships and cope with a demanding workload whilst maintaining high standards of work. You will be required to travel throughout the area of North Lanarkshire Council.

Work pattern: 17.5 hours per week - Week 1: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday; Week 2: Thursday and Friday.
