Residential Deputy Manager - Children's Home Company: North Lakes Children's Services Role: Residential Deputy Manager- Children's Home Contract: Full Time, permanent Salary : Base salary of £32,349.49 , with the potential to earn up to £35,606.77 per annum with sleep-in shifts Location: Carlisle Specific Hours : 42 hours per week- shift pattern on rotation Benefits: Shift Rotation: 2 days on, 2 days off, with staggered start times ranging from 8am, 12noon or 2pm (i.e. 8am-10pm, 12pm-10pm or 2pm-10pm). We now have a Deputy Manager opportunity at our 4-bed home in Carlisle. If you're a qualified and experienced Children's Home Deputy Manager with an approachable, inspiring leadership style, we'd love to hear from you. Main Duties Support the Registered Manager to ensure the home meets its Statement of Purpose and delivers high-quality care Maintain strong team communication and ensure policies and procedures are followed Oversee care quality, staff training, development, and supervision Ensure full compliance with safeguarding, health & safety, and regulatory standards Monitor the condition and safety of the home, equipment, and furnishings Assist with budgeting, financial oversight, and accurate record-keeping Promote equality, diversity, and child protection throughout the home Lead on quality assurance and continuous service improvement Provide effective team leadership, supervision, and appraisals Maintain confidentiality at all times Support new staff through induction About You: Understanding of the challenges faced by young people in care Level 3 Residential Childcare (or equivalent) Excellent communication and listening skills Willingness to learn and work well within a small team Ability to complete an enhanced DBS check (paid for by us) Experience in EBD, social care, residential work, or youth work (advantageous) Full, clean UK driving licence and ability to support other homes when needed North Lakes is an equal opportunities employer and positively encourages applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates.
