As a Support Care Worker, you\’ll be a positive role model-approachable, supportive, and committed to making a meaningful difference. Creating safe, nurturing, and fun experiences is central to what we do.
We\’re recruiting Casual Care Workers for our homes in Carlisle and Headsnook-warm, compassionate individuals who want to help young people recover from early life experiences and thrive.
Main Duties
- Support daily routines: morning/evening tasks, personal hygiene, meals, school runs, activities, and bedtime
- Promote independence, life skills, socialisation, and room cleanliness
- Attend appointments and support activity plans and daily targets
- Complete paperwork: day sheets, handovers, budgeting, checks, and daily records
- Carry out household tasks: cleaning, laundry, shopping, meal prep, and kitchen hygiene
- Complete safety checks (COSHH, fire, vehicle)
- Build positive relationships with families and help organise family time
About You
- Flexibility to work up to 14‑hour shifts with varied start times (08:00, 12:00, 14:00), including potential sleep‑ins
- Understanding of the challenges faced by young people in care
- Level 3 Residential Childcare qualification (or willingness to work toward it)
- Excellent communication, listening, and teamwork skills
- Willingness to learn and complete an enhanced DBS (paid for by us)
- Experience in EBD, social care, residential work, or youth work (advantageous)
