North Kesteven District Council is seeking an experienced professional to join the Property Services Repairs Team. This post puts you at the heart of a busy department handling day-to-day repairs and maintenance critical to the Council’s obligations to provide safe, efficient, and welcoming homes. North Kesteven District Council manages over 3800 social houses. This post will work in the Housing Repairs helping the delivery of a repairs and voids service.
Job Requirements
- A detailed understanding of property construction types (traditional and non-traditional social housing stock is desirable)
- Experience of working within a repairs and maintenance service
- HNC building/housing related qualification or equivalent experience
- The ability to work in a busy environment whilst prioritising a varied workload
Key Responsibilities
- To monitor housing repair reports received by the Council’s Repairs and Maintenance contractors and to use technical knowledge to liaise with both tenants and contractors as required in order to generate work orders using the repairs computer-based systems.
- To assist tenants and obtain clear information on repair problems and give technical advice.
- Provide instructions to contractors in a concise and efficient manner.
- To post-inspect the required sample of work selected by the Senior Repairs Officer.
- To challenge poor quality work with the contractors and provide reports in a timely manner.
- To carry out inspections and analysis to properties where damp and mould issues have been reported, to order work and monitor as per legislation timescales.

- Have a working knowledge of Microsoft packages and the ability to work on bespoke systems (training given)
