North Kesteven District Council is seeking an entry‑level professional to join and grow within the Housing Services department. Working primarily within the Neighbourhood Services team, you will help support the process of preparing and re‑letting empty council homes, while also contributing to work across other teams within the service. This role places you at the centre of a busy and diverse department that is vital to delivering high‑quality services to our tenants and leaseholders. At the end of an initial two-year period, subject to successfully gaining the Chartered Institute of Housing Level 3 qualification and meeting the required competencies, you will assimilate into the next available Officer role within one of the Income Management, Neighbourhood Services or Housing Options teams.

Job Requirements:

  • 4 GCSEs including Mathematics and English (minimum Grade 4/C or equivalent)
  • Familiarity with standard Microsoft Office software package

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing administrative and coordination support across Housing Services, including the Neighbourhood Services, Income Management and Housing Options teams.
  • Supporting the process of preparing and re‑letting empty council homes, including tracking progress, updating systems, liaising with internal teams and contractors and providing cover for the Voids Officer.
  • Assisting with the recovery of former tenant arrears, including preparing correspondence and helping to maintain accurate records.
  • Supporting the assessment of repair and damage charges for former tenants and assisting the Income Manager with related tasks.
  • Responding courteously, professionally and efficiently to enquiries from tenants, contractors, and colleagues across the Council by phone, email and in person.
