North Kesteven District Council is seeking an experienced or newly qualified professional to join the Environmental Protection Team. The role includes the inspection and enforcement of permitted premises, investigation of statutory nuisances, monitoring of air quality within the district, reviewing planning applications and contaminated land investigations while taking the necessary enforcement action to improve standards and protect public health.

Job Requirements

  • Degree in Environmental Health (BSc or MSc)
  • Registered and accredited by the CIEH
  • Diploma in acoustics, or willingness to undertake within a defined timeframe
  • Willingness to work with and support the wider Environmental Health Team

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine and reactive inspections and audits as listed above
  • Support and mentor the Environmental Protection Officers and Environmental Crime Officer
  • Participate in the council’s emergency out of hours rota
